Latest video:
Making a bathroom sink solid wood table using simple woodworking techniques and tools. With low budget builds like this low budget hacks with duct tape help to get around in the workshop. Only later I noticed the Kärcher vacuum cleaner had an adapter for different diameter pipes so I can use it in the future projects instead of duct tape. The sauna house is almost at the point where we can move fully in. Since a lot of things here are an after thought I've had to make things work. Nothing is perfect but everything works. There will also be a smaller washing machine next to the sink soon. I still have plumbing to do and have to connect the water heater which hasn't arrived yet. Finally one of my longest projects will come to an end. Can't wait! Thanks for watching! Consider subscribing if you haven't already and make sure to comment, share & like. Get a tube of white Latex caulk ( could do Silicone, but I like the longevity of the latex in this situation, it stays stuck to the sink and vanity finish longer) and create a thick bead and then bed the sink into it. it will keep water from being trapped in that tiny space and creating an inviting space for mould to grow in your washroom.... and once it dries it is waterproof and will accept a finish , like some more of that clear stuff, and then it is easy to keep clean. Nice work!

It’s just nice to see how you succeed! But there are other points that should be improved if you want this table to last a long time: 1) it is worth putting not 2 layers of varnish, but more, 2) the nuts need to be glued to a quick-drying epoxy 3) fasten the table to the wall.

Put sylicone on the cuting edges and glue by sylicone all sinc. Such tip is in any instruction from sink. Is good tip.

Perhaps 3D print som covers for the bolts, so they dont scratch the tiles, and are not left in any water to rust. Also, moisture is really a funny thing. Those holes drilled in the feet can suck it up if there is water on the floor. In maritime environments those holes would have been pre-drilled oversize, filled with thickened epoxy, and then re-drilled to size when the epoxy had set. Cool and nice little project! I have a washing room needing a bench. I'll re-use your adjustable feet there :-)

Nice to see woodworking projects in your awesome new shop! One tip try to get a speedsquare it will make life alot easier. Can slide the skilsaw against it and get accurate and fast cuts. We have them in Estonia also in stores i got mine from a local hardware store. I hardly use a mitresaw now i tend to grab a skilsaw and the speedsquare. American youtubers influence haha. Keep up the good work!

I'd suggest you make a holder for your sandpaper. Can be a block of wood and the sandpaper wrapped around it. It makes it so much easier to work with, you can attach the sandpaper with nails on the sides.

It really good to think that vanity unit was a tree in your paddock not that long ago, milled on a machine you made and finally made into a nice piece of bathroom furniture.

Progress in the sauna house. Nice! Even I don't have the sink yet. 😅Wife asks abot that a lot. Some people already asked about the outlets on the wall. For washing mashine and stuff? Shower comes right from the sink?
Donn DIY
Donn DIY Aasta tagasi
:D The double outlet is for the washing machine and electrical tooth brush, it is standard and has wires going through it to the boiler power source higher up on the wall. The single power outlet just near the sink is actually a connection socket for the water pump and pressure switch. The actual switching of the power happens in the electrical box outside the sauna. If I manage to hack together a longer hose for this shower head/tap combo yes, we can use it for showering too. If not I'll have to install another mixer which, due to the space limitations, I don't want to do. :D

Nice, but silicone between table and sink is great to add or just to glue with silicone on there lastslonger also nothing Will start to Grow there then,

By experience, whether you seal the sink to the table, or you uplift it onto the 4 angles ... Whatsoever if it stand in a wet room ... An air extraction would have to take place in there too . Nice piece of a plan . (First thought was he don't even glue it !!!, ... congrats me) 😏

Hopefully the pine will last a long time but if not then there’s another video in the future. Are your electric outlets rated as waterproof with those covers? I don’t think we could build a bathroom like that here with outlets inside the room.
Donn DIY
Donn DIY Aasta tagasi
Hopefully yeah. Will have to wipe it down constantly I guess to make it last longer. These power outlets are rated at IP44: "A product with an IP44 rating is protected against solid objects that are over 1mm (e.g. tools and small wires). It is also protected against water splashing from any angle." Although the shower head will be attached quite far from the outlets so no water will get to them anyway.

Could use some teflon tape/rubber knobs. With a vibrating washing machine, things will move. No?

I hope the washing machine has rubber legs. If not I have to put every piece of furniture on rubber.

About 10 years ago, I did a similar project to yours by doing up an old shed and completely insulating it. I chuckle to myself because I can see myself 10 years ago with the vacuum cleaner making sure everything was tidy as I made a mess. However, the shed did get messy over time. The best thing I did was to completely insulate it, just like yours. The thing I wish I had done better right at the start was making sure all the electrics and lights were done properly. Just sharing a similar experience.
