In this video I'm doing a little bit of woodworking and building shelves for the motorcycle garage that is connected to the ongoing machine shop / workshop build project. The shelves are made from birch plywood and coated with clear lacquer. I didn't sand and re-coat the shelves since I'm too lazy. But the single clear coat keeps the dirt out of the birch fibers and that's enough for me. The Makita impact driver is the same one that was bought by my father in the year 2004(ish) and it still works strong (not sponsored by anybody, just saying). The plywood was also supplied by my father. All the pieces that I used are 1,2 cm by 98,5 cm by 29,5 cm. The shelf supports were cut in half and the width is 14,4 cm accordingly including kerf losses. This pretty much gives you an idea what the shelf measurements are if you by any chance want to duplicate what I did. And yes, my shirt is on inside out. Thanks for watching, check out my other videos too! Ok I can't stand it anymore. A circular saw is great, but you'd save yourself so much time with a table saw and a miter saw. Please invest in those, you'll thank me :)

Would have cut an angle across the bottom where the corners are stuck out. You will hit one and it will hurt. lol

dont protect the floor with chip board.. concrete shop floor is made to be beat to piss and have paint stain chemicals spilled all over it

It's just so new I'm scared to even walk on it. I'll get to that beating point for sure, but not just now. 😀

I save some of the saw dust mix it with light oil and when I sweep the floor after any project the sweeping compound picks up all the small scraps and drill chips and all the dust. No there is no staining or slippery spots, just clean and no dust.

Только слишком много лишней работы сделал,имеется в виду тыловая часть полок которую он садил на клей и привинчивал саморезами.

Really well thought out design, although I'm surprised you didn't figure out a way to make your own plywood ;)

Donn DIY Aasta tagasi
No worries, I have a surplus amount of birch veneer left over from the times I made my own skateboards. Making plywood is more simple than making skateboards. 😉😀

Donn DIY
Donn DIY Aasta tagasi
Yup, been married almost for a year already. Not that you should know about it - I haven't said anything about it on EEpost. 😀 We need a house, yes. But when do we (I) get to this point where there's possible to build one, we'll see.

How to you make your stud tire ? (Winter tire)
Donn DIY
Donn DIY Aasta tagasi
I got these studded tires with the bike and actually haven't used them yet. These are probably bought from the store. But there are many "how to" videos on EEpost on that subject. I especially liked the one with concrete nails and nuts.

You need a table saw.
Donn DIY
Donn DIY Aasta tagasi
I actually have a planer and saw combo but I have no place for it. Even now I'm not gonna get it inside the workshop since I'm doing steel work more than woodwork. But I know what you mean. The cuts would come out more straight than now for sure.
Andrew Browner
Andrew Browner Aasta tagasi
ehhh.. thats alot of space and money for something the circ saw does just as well.. table saw is just more convienent if youre doing such builds all the time

I like your new Big Gray workbench😊. The floor looks great👍👍👍👍. I like your winter tires that you have for your motorcycle. When I was young I was looking for those types of tires for my Enduro, back then they weren't available here in the United States. So every time I went into different bike shops trying to find them I got weird looks from the people working there. Looking forward to more videos of the sawdust coming off of The Sawmill. Keep up the good work.
