Making the adjustable blade guide movable from the sawmill's operator position for the ease of use. Fabricating blade guards for the sake of safety from a rusty unknown sheet metal structure found from scrap heap. Check it out!

I am collecting Materials to Build this Saw, the best i can, it maybe a little different, WHAT i would like to know is ??? How much lower was the Motorbike wheel, from the other one to make the Blade pressure good on a small cut.
Donn DIY
Donn DIY Місяць tagasi
I think the difference was maybe around 25mm/2", or even double that. You can always adjust the blade pressure with the guide rollers instead.

Excellent videos I like the way you move the camera around to show everything, very clever build , and like me you never throw anything away , everything is useful sooner or later, one mans junk is another mans treasure.

Yes, there's always a lot to build from wood in the homestead. Timber is always needed. ;)

I know, you're right, that little nit picking stuff can take a lot of time.
Donn DIY
Donn DIY 2 aastat tagasi
They sent a hand held circular saw for testing. Haven't had the chance to test it properly but got to use it a couple of times. There is a lot to tinker, small stuff that doesn't show but takes tremendous amount of time. I don't care about the paint at the beginning, I will test it thoroughly before any painting. It may need modifications.

At 8:22 we can see clearly that the adjustable roller holds the blade down level with the frame. It is really starting to come together now that the guarding is being added.

as you finish your blade guard add a hook, to hang a bucket to catch the saw dust.
Donn DIY
Donn DIY 2 aastat tagasi
I was thinking about adding an attachment for a plastic trash bag so I can collect the sawdust straight into the bag so I don't have to shovel it from the ground afterwards. The bucket would be even better, since it's simple and doesn't weigh as much when full. I might use that idea. Thanks! :D

Pound for pound electric is the more powerful but it limits where you cut unless you can find a currant bush to plug into out in the bush. ICE is far and away the more portable but a decent diesel will deafen you in short order. Mike
Donn DIY
Donn DIY 2 aastat tagasi
I look forward to cutting logs too. Even to an extent where I've ditched the idea of using this mill with ICE and electric motor both. Instead I'm gonna try it out with the ICE and then add the electric motor later on.
