Latest video: eepost.info/my/video/o2-LdnVnopKFuos.html
This is part of a series of a four wheel drive utility vehicle build to lessen the work load on my trusty 2002 Honda Foreman Rubicon TRX500FA. This partially answers the question "Why?" but for those who want to ask "why don't you just buy a side-by-side instead of building one?" I just want to say - I'm not made of money. Side-by-sides are ridiculously expensive, even the car I drive around daily is worth less (not worthless though!), hell, it is even worth less than my 2002 Honda ATV.
"How much HP will it have?" - the 1.4 litre FWD petrol engine I'm planning on using has 55 kw and this will not change, but the torque will be tripled via the BMW differentials I'm using to transfer power to front and rear axles.
"It will be too heavy!" - this project just like the firewood processor project does not have to float. And a heavier vehicle will handle better anyway when hauling heavy loads.
Stay tuned for future episodes! Thanks for watching!

Nothing wrong with "design as you go", even if your first idea doesn't work. I do that all the time. My problem starts when I try to draw the parts in a good computer drawing program, after completing the project for future issues or others wanting to copy my designs. That part of my projects takes such a long time... But having drawing documents to back up design, is a great idea. Amazing how much you forget what you did years later, and the drawings refresh you ideas. Thumbs Up!

Hi Donn, hope you are keeping well. Most interesting steering column i've seen is from an old Ford Bronco. It has a universal joint directly behind the steering wheel, makes for interesting ideas. 4x4 coming along nicely. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work. 👍🖖😎🐶🦴🏎🦼

Another cracking video, The wiring loom reminds me of fitting modern engines in old cars back in the early 2000s, fitting a 2002 2.0l zetec from Focus ST170 into a 1987 fiesta that originally had a 1.3 OHV engine was quite a lot of work. Also you know you are really drilling when the bit has a Morse taper on the back of it.

Hi. is not strange to want a vehicle with the steering wheel on the right side. And because apart from them, the laws and rules of the majority countries are to drive a vehicle with the steering wheel on the left side and probably in the country where you live.

So no hicas style 4-wheel steering system? Could use second steering system and just tie it to first one with chains and sprockets and decide how much back end tun compared to front via gearing chance. Have a lockable sproket on front to have 4-wheel steer, or release the lock for only front turning. Could be useful in tight spaces.

Were you having issue with the bump steer, is that why you started over again.

I think with the round part he originally threaded onto the tie rod forced him to have the upright in too far. Eliminating the round piece and just threading the upright allowed them to be spaced further apart for the next purpose he’s teasing us about.
